Outfit post: of ice queens and painted castles

A warm winter coat and soft leather boots are the perfect accessories for a crisp, cold day….

The other day, I was lucky enough to be taken to see the Valentino exhibition, where an array of gorgeous couture dresses awaited me. You really must go and see it, it’s held in the suitably beautiful venue – Somerset House.

To dress for the occasion  a vintage-inspired look was required, and my new beautiful coat from Florence and Fred at Tesco* was perfect. Camel coloured and lined with a soft satin, floral-printed material, it makes me feel ever-so-dressed up. The tie at the waist band gives it a perfectly feminine silhouette, which is very flattering on the form. I’ve work it several times, and each time I seem to get a compliment on it, which makes me feel even warmer when wearing it! You can buy this little beauty here.

The vintage dress is one I have previously worn here, and matched the colour palette, quite nicely.

Oh and the boots, every girl needs a good pair of boots. These are definitely those for me. They are tan and leather riding boots from Joe Brown’s* and very comfortable to wear. The tops are very snug and don’t rub, and I think they have that ‘expensive’ look about them. They’re just £44.95 and you can buy them here.

The chain head dress is one I made for Wonsuponatime, which I will be selling as part of the Dark Princess collection next year. And the white castle ring is part of the Ice Queen collection (it looks a little like Superman’s castle!).

Have you been to the Valentino exhibition? Do you dress up to go to fashion exhibitions like I do?
