Jumpsuit: New Look
One of my favourite things about the trip was visiting a very cool Speak Easy bar in Philly. In case you don’t know what a Speak Easy bar is, it takes its name from America, when the country was banned from drinking alcohol in the late 1800’s. People then started little eastablishments, that pretended to be something else, such as a bank, or another building, and secretly people would drink alcohol on the premises in teacups or such. To enter, a person would have to speak a word to get into the esablishment, hence the name ‘speak easy’. Now loads of cool bars have popped up across the world with a similar theme, and we went to one in Philly called The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company. The bar is named after the business that fronted for the country’s largest Prohibition-era alcohol ring
Obviously, it’s not that easy to find – you have to enter via the stairs that appear to go down to nowhere. When you do enter, the first thing you notice is the cool 20’s style illustrations on the wall, glittering lights and dark drama of the furniture. The cocktails were immense too, they take great love in what they do here. There was an air of coolness here, like this bar doesn’t have to try hard, it is just this awesome.
I wore a boned playsuit from New Look, which I bought ages ago. It’s ideal on a summer’s night with no top and big jewellery! I teamed it with my glittery boots and white jacket from Wish. The jacket is perfect if you feel a bit exposed and also seems to go with everything!

What do you think of the bar? Would you go if you’re in Philly?
