With just 2.5 years to go, I have some fabulous things to achieve.
1) Complete my novel
I know it sounds really ponsy, but I have been writing since I was five and writing a novel was always something I wanted to do. For the first time, I made it past 1000 words, and I’m now proud to say I’m on 13,000. I am taking it slowly, not putting too much pressure on myself and hoping perhaps one day, it might get published. It’s for young adults and is a modern day fairytale, which I’m half in love with writing.
2) Travel to Paris
It has haunted me throughout my life, that I have never been to Paris. And now, I have lived in London for about five years, and only live 2.5 hours away. Have I been? NO. It is on my list to do this year. My second book to the above is set in Paris, and so all the more reason to want to go. I want to see it lit up by summer sun light and to nip into Parisian vintage shops, see the chic French style and to try and hold a conversation in French.
3) Own a Mulberry
I have talked about this before. The Mulberry bag is the only bag I have ever loved, and forever it was the Alexa, but now thanks to A Girl A Style, I am pining for Lily. I love everything about the brand and I think I have a lot in common with its girly quirkiness.
4) Explore Thailand
Thailand has always held this mystique for me. I booked a holiday there when I was moving to Australia three years ago (I never went, as I met my boyfriend), and ever since I have wanted to go. I know it’s massively over done, but it’s something for me that still stays in my heart very strongly.
5) Get engaged
My boyfriend will hate my for putting this up here. I am so excited to be spending the rest of my life with him and I love the idea we found each other at a time when I had been really lost. He gives me purpose and really helps me to put my many crazy ideas into some sense of order, as well as being my very best friend.
6) Be a successful blogger
I really try with this blog, so I’d love to be able to make money from it eventually and have it lead to other creative projects. There are so may people I know who has done this successfully. From adverts, to advertorials and affiliate marketing – it would great to be able to treat this like a mini publication eventually, if people liked it enough.
7) Start saving for a deposit
I was never really one who wanted to own a house before, but the idea of having our own little place in the world really does appeal to me. I like the idea of buying back up north maybe just after 30, as I don’t like the idea of having children down here in London – I want them to be near their family you know?
8 ) To still be nice, without being walked all over
I am one of those people who tries to be nice to everyone, sometimes to my detriment. I can allow people to walk all over me, and I am really trying not to allow this anymore. I’m still not doing that great at it. I want to be able to get better at this by the time I am 30.
9) To visit more places in Britain
So many people want to see more places around the world, but to be honest – I have never been to Ireland or Wales, can you believe it? I would love to visit some of the old castles in Wales, listen to live folk music in Ireland and more.
10) To stay in The Witchery
When I was 13 and obsessed with Harry Potter, I once read about this magical place, The Witchery, in Edinburgh which embodied everything beautiful to me. It has The Secret Garden, which is a gorgeous little hideaway inside it, and has four poster beds in the rooms, with rich furniture in each room.
I think I’ll add to this list, as I get nearer to the date. But these are my top 10 things for now.
What do you think of my list? What’s on your list?
