It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so sorry for my absence. One of the first things I wanted to talk about was how the London College of Fashion have got on board with social media!
The world famous fashion institute is offering students the chance to learn about fashion marketing and social media. To me at first, this seemed like a bit of a waste of time, but then I read more into what the course offers:
Online fashion marketing & social media
From Twitter and Facebook to the myriad fashion blogs, social media is a integral part of today’s digital fashion marketing strategies. This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of social media within the fashion industry with a focus on customer communities and online communication tools.
The course will include:
- History of fashion and retail brand marketing
- Online fashion marketing theories
- Online branding concepts
- Social media practices in different cultures and creative environments
- Social media and marketing career information
I like the fact that there’s a history of fashion marketing on offer, which helps to put the whole thing in context. Some people still don’t seem to realise that social media works in integration with PR and marketing, so I like that this helps to establish that! Find more information here.
What do you guys think? Waste of time or not?
