Probably the coolest festival this year, Vintage at Goodwood is a beautiful mix of fashion and music. Taking place in Sussex, this fusion of creativity has attracted the likes of Lily Allen, who’s launching her vintage shop there, to the British Fashion Council and everything in-between.
The festival is kicking off tomorrow (Friday 13th) and is the first one, so what’s all the fuss about?
Sarah Betty’s Highlights
- Future Vintage New Generation (Sunday 4pm):
Here you can check out the talented likes of David Koma, Holly Fulton, Louise Gray, Mary Katrantzou and Michael van der Ham. They will be showcasing their A/W 10 collections to the public, so everyone can feel like a fashion journalist!

- Stephen Jones Hat Salon at Fortnum & Mason (2pm Daily):
The ever-so-gifted Mr Jones will be showcasing his haute couture style hats, which are sure to grab anyone’s attention. Having been to one of his shows before, I can say that this is something you don’t want to miss. Each hat is like a piece of artwork.
Trot along to have your photo taken by Photographers and stylists from the Fashion school at UCA Epsom. You can choose to be styled from a particularly vintage period (from the 40’s to now) and can have the photo altered to suit the period you want.
There are so many workshops, so you can get your creative head on. There’s everything to do from, from learning how to make a clutch bag, to making skirts and appliqués! This is the one thing I’m sad I’ll miss.
The clever folks at this festival have designed a pop-up high street (think a film set and you’re nearly there). They have really thought of everything!
There’s also the music of course – but I mainly wanted to cover my fashion highlights here. I wish I could afford to go, but for those of you who can – have a blast.
Are you going to Vintage at Goodwood? What are you looking forward to?
Love to hear back from you!
